Social Media Blog

For our short film, Emma and I created several social media accounts in order to promote our film. First, we created a new email through Gmail in order to keep our new accounts objective to our film. The email we created is deceptionthefilm@gmail.com. We then got to create these new accounts. First, we created a Facebook page. However, we were having difficulty trying to figure out how to change the name presented on the page. As a result, the page currently shows up as my name instead of the film name. We were more successful with the additional accounts. We created a Twitter account under the user "@FilmDeception." Each account had to use a different user due to the fact some names were taken on some platforms while others were not. We also created a Youtube page under "Deception the Film." The most difficult page for us to create was the Instagram page. For some reason, each time we tried to create an account via the new email we received a notice that the account was already created. However, neither Emma nor I had created the account yet, leaving us without the ability to create an Instagram page. However, we are going to be sure to resolve the issue soon. Once all of our accounts and pages were created, we wanted to add a small description to each in order to let our followers know what the account is for. We wanted the description to be vague and straightforward. After some consideration, we decided on "Official Twitter for 'Deception,' a student-created short film! Creators are Alex Kuroda and Emma Young from Fort Lauderdale High School." We interchanged "Twitter" with each account we were writing the description for. Once all of our new social media accounts were set up, we created a website through Wix. On this website, we embedded each account onto it so the user could simply click on an icon and will be taken to the respective social media page.
