2:00pm Move location to house and film Afternoon Driveway and Home; Scenes 3,4

    - Scene 3; Driveway of house, moves to Inside the home (living room)

    - Scene 4; Bedroom



7:00pm Film nighttime bedroom scenes; scenes 5

    - Scene 5; Bedroom



THURSDAY 11/19

- Start editing and putting together scenes into Imovie

GOAL: Finish the last 3 scenes

9:00pm Film scene in "lab" 

    - Scene 11 (final scene); office





Costumes

Costumes will be monotone and plain to conduct the feeling of a uniform society.

Health and Safety

This is a low risk film, yet procedures will be put into place to make sure everyone has a safe experience. For example, making sure there are no hazards are on set, making sure actors are focused when preforming acts like driving, and making sure castmembers are well hydrated when in the sun for long periods of time.

Daytime Filming

 We decided to begin filming our short film. In order to make the best use of our time, we decided to film the scenes that took place during the day first. Because there's only so much daylight time, we had to be careful about how we used this time. We also had to make sure the amount of light aligned with the time of day each scene took place. The first scenes we filmed were those that took place in the parking lot. We chose these first because, in the film, they take place in the afternoon when there is the brightest level of light. These were also some of the simplest scenes to film because the camera work utilized was very basic and short. After completing these scenes, we went to our friend Ella's house to film the scenes that take place in Elle's home. Although this location was inside, the natural light coming through the windows has an effect on the filming and shows a sign of the time of day it is. Critical Reflection

  Critical Reflection Questions How do your products represent social groups or issues? Our film, “Deception” lays into the ideas of complicity in our society. We all seem to just go along with everything around us without challenging anything. In our film, Alex and I wanted to make the audience step back, and think about how they are living their lives. Are they just playing into the illusion of control like our main character, Elle, or are they breaking boundaries and trying to go the extra step to living a unique life. At the end of our film, it is shown that Elle’s whole life was just a simulation being run by scientists, which is how Alex and I feel people are going about their lives now. How do the elements of your production work together to create a sense of ‘branding’?  Horror: The main point of a horror film is to drive fear and terror within its audience. This is accomplished through several different elements. The setting for a horror film typically takes place in a dark or rural area, possibly abandoned or isolated. This invokes a sullen tone for the audience right off the bat and foreshadows the idea that the events taking place will not likely be happy ones. The camera movements and angles themselves are generally simple so that they will not distract from the characters and events too much. However, horror films can get away with using odd angles as well, such as a skewed angle for added effect. Sound-wise, there is much variation in what sound effects horror films could utilize. They can use minimalistic music in order to build suspense, and may also do so through complete silence.
